Location of the Baltic Hotel-Pension
As the name suggests, the Baltic - Pension on the avenue of lime trees is located on Germany's most beautiful lime tree-lined avenue (anno 1850) (a natural monument), which directly connects Bad Doberan with its district, the Baltic Sea resort of Heiligendamm. Heiligendamm, with its beautiful Baltic Sea beaches and promenade featuring a pier, is Germany's first seaside resort and a recognized seaside health resort. It was founded in 1793 by Grand Duke Friedrich Franz I. To mark the 50th anniversary of its founding in 1843, a large, impressive memorial stone (boulder) was erected in front of the Kurhaus with the inscription: "Friedrich Franz I founded Germany's first seaside resort here in 1793-1843."
Heiligendamm is also home to the Median Clinic, which specializes in the treatment and rehabilitation of conditions in the fields of pulmonology, cardiology, neurology, psychosomatics, orthopedics, and addiction disorders.
In Bad Doberan, there is the Dr. Ebel Moorbad Specialized Clinic. It specializes in medical rehabilitation with a focus on orthopedics, rheumatology, physical medicine, and traditional therapeutic treatments using moor mud.
Our hotel and guesthouse is situated in an idyllic location, surrounded by a beautiful green park area (arboretum) featuring the Baltic Sea Sequoia Avenue and nature (fields, forests, meadows), which is ideal for relaxation and recreation during a stroll, a short hike, or a bike ride.
Let yourself be enchanted by the impressive and peaceful atmosphere. We warmly welcome you to fully enjoy the beauty of nature.

Explore the sights of Bad Doberan and Heiligendamm
The Ostsee-Pension is ideally located, making it the perfect starting point for exploring all the sights in Bad Doberan and Heiligendamm.
You can reach the attractions on foot, by bike, by car, by Molli, or even by taking the regional bus line 121 from the Bad Doberan Ausbau Bus stop right in front of our property; of course, this also includes the nearby Baltic Sea resorts of Heiligendamm, Kühlungsborn, Rerik, and the Hanseatic city of Rostock. Enjoy the proximity to the cultural highlights and natural beauty that this region has to offer. The steam-powered narrow-gauge "Molli" railway (a cultural monument) passes by the historic Lime Tree Avenue (Dammchaussee) - west of the Baltic Pension and within sight - on its way to Heiligendamm and on to Kühlungsborn (Germany's largest Baltic Sea resort).
The bike path to the Baltic Sea from Bad Doberan to Heiligendamm also runs right along Dammchaussee, past the oldest horse racing track on our continent and the Baltic Sea racecourse (1 km), to Germany's oldest seaside resort, Heiligendamm (3 km - a natural beach with both flat and steep coastlines, free of mass tourism).
North of the Baltic - Pension lies the "Conventer Lowlands" nature reserve with the lake of the same name (nature reserve, particularly a bird breeding and resting area), which can be quickly reached and explored via the adjacent "Big Wohld" mixed forest during a relaxing hike or bike ride (Baltic Sea cycling vacation, Baltic Sea nature vacation).
Just south of the Baltic - Pension, the bike path easily takes you to Mecklenburg's crowning achievement of Brick Gothic architecture--the Doberan Minster (a 5-minute bike ride)--and to the town center with its classicist seaside resort architecture. This style is, of course, also abundantly represented in the nearby district of Heiligendamm. You can find more information about getting here by car or public transportation on our travel page.
